Tending to the blossoms within your garden of health.
The breeze that I feel from the spring air is so refreshing and so invigorating. It brings a feeling of purity and new beginnings, just a sense of peace that warmth is once again on its way. Even though I live in Costa Rica, where the temperatures are fairly consistent year round, I have the cellular memory of the energy of spring from 42 years of my life living in the Northeastern States. However, that breeze still reaches me here. When I get to experience it, it’s a reminder of the excitement of rebirth, new beginnings, and what’s to come. The energy of renewal is very much connected to change and transformation. This spring has brought much auspicious and synchronistic energy and it is helping us to evolve into the next version of ourselves.
Have you discovered anything new in the last couple of months as we have been transitioning into this new season? Have any new awarenesses been illuminated or literally forced into your field? Have you found the experience of releasing old, dead energy so that you can blossom into the next version of yourself? I speak about this because in relationship to holistic health and healing, it is incredibly important that we continue to grow and release burdens that have been stored in our bodies, either through recent experiences, experiences that happened in our youth, to our ancestors, or even, for those who believe in reincarnation, release energy, trauma, and patterns that were energetically imprinted through past lives.
Carrying this energy within and choosing to be blind to what we don’t want to acknowledge and ignoring the truth can be very detrimental to one’s health. This goes way beyond changing your diet and taking some supplements. Although physical manifestation of dis-ease occurs through the physical world and requires support with these modalities and forms of medicine, the source is often an energetic trauma or imprint that needs to be healed. And this is why true wellness requires a whole-istic approach. Holistic means looking at the WHOLE person, not just one piece of the person, or just the symptom or one physical aspect. Holistic means the physical, the emotional, and the spiritual sides of a person’s existence.
The physical body is just one aspect of our whole being, which has many layers. In western schools of thought we are only taught of the physical aspects, including the surface (our skin) the bones and muscles and nervous system, and deeper layers consisting of organs and glands. In physiology, groups of organs and glands make up systems. Eastern practices of medicine such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda include more subtle movement of energy, also known as chi or prana. The pathways this energy travels through are known as meridians or nadi’s respectively. Blocks in these energy pathways cause issues in the respective organs through which the pathways flow. There are many ways to determine the presence of these blocks.
Using surface observations we can read the outward expression of many aspects of health inside of our bodies, using pathways such as the skin, eyes, and tongue. Our bodies speak to us through external signs and symptoms. For example, when looking at the tongue, I can see if there’s reduced digestive capacity, or if there’s challenges with the liver and gallbladder. When looking into the eyes, we can see information about all of the organs, about the digestive system, levels of stress, endocrine health, and more. The body has the ability to detoxify and restore itself. It has protective mechanisms like the immune system. I say all of this to help you understand that this is all the last level of expression of imbalance, or dis-ease. Sometimes this can be restored quickly and sometimes it takes a lot longer.
In alignment with the frequency of spring and new beginnings, I want to share the importance of the theme of truth for your healing journey. I myself have spent a great part of my life choosing to see the world through rose-colored glasses, oftentimes ignoring the truth, because I didn’t want to acknowledge the truth. This selective ignorance can translate as choosing to make excuses for unhealthy relationship patterns, and remaining in a toxic situation even though you know it’s not good for you. It can translate as continuing to engage in activities that are harmful for your body and mind, even though deep down you know they are unhealthy. It could show up as minimizing things that are really a problem because you don’t want to face the challenge of making a change or letting go.
However, despite how hard acknowledging the truth may be sometimes, it is an illusion that we are safer remaining where we are. The fear of the unknown can keep us tethered, and it reminds me of the analogy of the elephant that is tied with a rope to just a small pin in the ground. This large animal that could very easily yank this pin out and be free believes that it is tethered and cannot go anywhere from being trained at a young age. It is false perceptions that keep us locked inside limiting beliefs and keeps us held in less favorable situations.
I recently came to this realization…
“For you to be able to speak your truth, you must come into alignment with the truth.
Illumination, awareness, awakening, transfiguration, transmutation, alchemy, all lead to new beginnings. Open your eyes to the power that lies within you that you never knew, gifting you all that is possible.
If you don’t want to be lied to, don’t lie to yourself. If you don’t want to be deceived, don’t deceive yourself. What you choose to see and believe will never be at the fault of anyone else but yourself.
Seek not to be blind, and the truth shall set you free.”
In our lifetimes, we will experience many people who lie to us and deceive us. Whether it is a friend who steals from you, or a “friend” speaking terrible things about you behind your back while acting like they are your friend to your face. It might be someone saying one thing and doing another, or misleading you to believe complete false stories. It might show up as individuals speaking false prophecies, wishing for you to believe them for their own ego power.
The sad thing is, in many instances, we want to believe. I have spent much time choosing to not see the truth. And yet, of all the lies told to me in my lifetime, and all who have deceived me, none has been more painful than my own self deceit and lies I’ve told myself.
Please, for the sake of your health… meditate on these questions. Where in your life are you choosing to not see the truth? Where are you deceiving yourself, and blocking yourself from stepping in to your true awareness and potential? Where in your life are you remaining in toxic energy that is not in alignment with your highest good or your greater soul’s purpose? Where, deep within your body, are there hidden traumas that you’ve chosen not to acknowledge or see, manifesting as disease, stress or unhappiness on the surface.. What possible darkness is festering deep inside as a wound untreated, just waiting to blossom into dis-ease in your body?
Preventative medicine is about doing the work NOW, not after you have symptoms and get sick. True preventative medicine requires monitoring your health, listening to the subtle signs, and taking care of yourself, respecting your body, mind and soul. The discussion about finding a cure for cancer is a very interesting one to me because cancer is a disease that manifests from toxicity. That toxicity can be mental, emotional, physical, or it can be a spiritual and energetic gaping wound and it manifests through an unhealthy cellular and energetic environment in our physical and etheric bodies. Despite our greatest efforts, prevention of cancer will not come from a pharmaceutical drug or a treatment infused into our bloodstream once cancer cells are discovered.
It will only come from us caring for ourselves on every level. From stopping consumption of poisons and toxins that our food is riddled with, in both processed foods and also in fresh foods that are doused in chemical preservatives and pesticides. It comes from us choosing to drink enough water each day to purify and cleanse our body and organs, and to hydrate our cells to create a healthy cellular environment. To go to bed at a healthy hour and give our bodies adequate rest. It comes from our decision to not live in states of chronic stress and to take care of ourselves with stress management techniques, detoxification protocols, and having loving conversation (not only with those around us, but with ourselves) on a regular basis. Preventing dis-ease comes from having a connection with your higher self and with God, the Great Spirit, your subconscious, whatever it is that you believe in that is a greater energy and power outside of yourself and listening, listening to the whispers of your soul.
In our society there is a deterioration that has been happening, not only on a physical level but on an energetic and spiritual level for generations. I do believe there is a greater purpose for it all, but if we truly want to cure anything, it will come from healing the wounds before they turn into altered cellular states or manifest from our need to suffer. Chronic inflammation, an acidic cellular environment, remaining in toxic relationships, jobs, environments, continuing to expose ourselves to chronic stress (both emotional and physical), choosing to ignore the truth and continue to practice unhealthy / self destructive activities or lifestyle patterns. All of these things are a block on our ability to ever know true health and live our best lives.
I challenge you this Spring to dig deep. Meditate daily, practice yoga daily, do not compromise your self-care routines. Do this to find the truth, to be fearless in acknowledging what needs to be illuminated and releasing anything that’s been keeping you down or holding you back. I challenge you to know and trust in your ability to manifest your dreams. But in order to manifest our dreams, we must first come into alignment with the truth. We must first heal. As we do, miracles can and will happen. May this season bring you many blossoms; beautiful treasures of new beginnings, healing, letting go, trusting, gratitude, and love that fills your garden with gifts beyond measure. Remember, health truly is our greatest wealth, and the investments that you put in now, will pay you dividends for years to come.
